Finishing up certification in Level 1:Synergetic Play Therapy™ (SPT) is a researched-informed model of play therapy blending the therapeutic power of play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, physics, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity. Its primary play therapy influences are Child-Centered, Experiential, and Gestalt theories. Although Synergetic Play Therapy™ is a model of play therapy, it’s also a way of being in relationship with self and others. It’s an all-encompassing paradigm that can be applied to any facet of life and, subsequently, any model of play therapy can be applied to it or vice versa. Synergetic Play Therapy™ is both non-directive and directive in its application. SPT is also a way of describing the collaboration of parts and centers that occur within the therapist, within the child, and in the relationship. https://synergeticplaytherapy.com/

Finishing certification in level 2: Therapy model that integrates somatic therapy and parts work to support healthy integration of trauma. Used primarily with adults and teens but can be adapted for children.

Trauma-Informed and Neurodiversity Affirming Mindfulness Approach
Sand Tray Therapy

Sand tray is an expressive arts therapy that supports trauma integration and self-regulation. Children and adults can create scenes with miniatures that help them express what is difficult to say. This is a great alternative for those who feel stuck by talk therapy.

Dr. Ross Greene's evidenced-based approach recognizes that children do well when they can and that big behaviors are frustration responses. I coach parents in learning strategies for working with their children to identify what is making it hard for the child to meet expectations. I am not pursuing certification in this model but have used this model with clients. I have had to adapt this model for autistic children who need different ways to express their thoughts and feelings.

AutPlay® is a neurodiversity affirming framework for implementing play therapy. The AutPlay framework is neurodiversity paradigm informed and designed to help child and play therapists address the mental health needs of neurodivergent children ages 3-18 (autistic children, those with ADHD, social anxiety, sensory differences, learning differences, highly sensitive, and developmental and physical disabilities).https://autplaytherapy.com/about-autplay-therapy/

Collaborative Proactive Solutions

Mindfulness techniques are integral to supporting regulation. However, traditional mindfulness strategies can feel unnatural and not helpful for vulnerable nervous systems. We will stay curious about what helps you pause and stay grounded when you feel overwhelmed. This may look like mindful movement, noticing thoughts without judgement and relating to thoughts with self-compassion.

ADHD and Autism Coaching

This is a more solutions-based approach focused on goals that support executive functioning, coping with burnout and implementing coping strategies. Coaching can be used in conjunction with therapy. It is not always an appropriate service on its own. Schedule a consultation to determine if this is the right service for you.
